Lana Del Rey for H&M

H&M is looking great right now, a/w is their season! With Lana Del Rey and collaborations with Anna Del Russo could they get any better? But the collection that is drawing my attention is with Lana Del Rey (still love Anna!) The TV advert and pictures are perfection. 'Blue Velvet' was soothingly sung in a quite creepy 1950's atmosphere for the advert and her hair was swept into a large smooth style matching her voice. The clothes where also fabulous with wine stained colours, florals and lots of texture. Topshop Unique ss13 showed black and white minimalism at its best and if like me you weren't lucky enough to be at the show, there was a live stream on the Topshop website, where you could capture shots from the show and share it on facebook. But if you missed that there is still a chance to watch it on the website and other shows from Mary Katrantzou, J.W. Anderson, Meadham Kirchhoff and more. 

The clothes and the models where perfect! Clean and crisp cuts and very beautiful models. The line up of models included my favourites Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn.

French Vogue has a new look!

The September issue of Vogue Paris appears to have a cleaner and elegant new look. The three covers feature Lara Stone, Kate Moss and Daria Werbowy wearing the same black Dolce and Gabbanna dress. The new cover was designed by Vogue creative director Germain Chaveau.

"Vogue's mission is to surprise, and to anticipate the wants of our readers. We've taken the concept of 'black fury' to mark the launch of fresh new format for the magazine, with new typefaces, new-look sections, and new guests, including fashion blogger Garance Doré who introduces a new column. Always ahead of the rest, Vogue confirms its radical standpoint with a facelift," explains Emmanuelle Alt in her editorial page, which has also had a new look.

Camo/army style jackets are appearing more and more over the UK. I went back to school yesterday and most girls had one on, also in a lot of shops such as River Island, Primark and Urban Outfitters. But apart from Primark if you don't want to spend too much try somewhere like eBay or vintage shops. I have a feeling these are going to be really big in the autumn/winter seasons this year. As I said in my first post, things like Tumblr are setting trends and the army jacket is perfect example of that as the trend starting amongst teens.

To get the best look with these jackets buy them either fitted perfectly or in a few sizes bigger.

Donatella is back for couture 2012!

 

I absolutely adored the Versace s/s collection this year, so when I heard Donatella was back for Couture I was extremely excited for the collection. She made a brilliant comeback! This collection is  gorgeous. Lindsey Wixon and Karlie Kloss where among the many models walking for the show. It was everything you would expect from Versace, the disco ABBA curls, the shimmer and exposed flesh/ flesh tones. The show took place in the Ritz Hotel, Donatella's brother Gianni's favourite spot for his runway shows.  She lived up to her expectations and much more. Welcome back Donatella!

Azealia Banks New Face of T Alexander Wang

Yeah I know, my last post was also about Azealia but since now she is the new face of Alexander Wang I had to do an update. I told you she was gonna be the next big thing! Anyways, the female rapper shot a video for the designers new fall T collection which you can view below. “She exudes a certain rawness that makes her a very unique talent,” Wang said about Miss Banks. He also said he loved working on the video with her and that the "collaboration captures a collision of energies." Daniel Jackson directed the fashion video and Azealia sang her song "Van Vogue" from her new album EP 1991. I personally love this collaboration it shows fierceness and a high level of raw energy, thats quite hard to find. I think Banks and Wang go perfectly together.

Azealia Banks is a female rapper from Harlem, New York stepping up the game for female rappers everywhere. Her rhythm and speed is some of the best the industries seen in a while. She is like the female version of Busta Rhymes. Her voice is a mix of Missy Elliot and Salt n Peppa. Her style is also turning heads. Her bold hair colours and outfit choices are totally unique, not like Nicki or Gaga, just Azealia. She was crowned 3rd place in 'Sound of the Year 2012' by the BBC and she topped NME's 'Cool List 2011', also her song '212 ft Lazy Jay' made the UK charts and won the Billboard Awards 'New Style Icon 2012' award! I hope we will see a lot of Azealia in the future, because she is on a whole other level.

teenage style via social networks

This year is the year for teenage style. With the blogging site Tumblr growing more and more everyday, it wont be a surprise if everyone from your best friend to your favourite model join Tumblr by the end of the year. Social Networking sites allow the younger generation to showcase their sense of style and share it will others. The internet is a place where you can be whoever you want to be and can make many teenagers feel confidence to go out in what ever they want. The teenagers on such sites have a very clear image of what they want to wear. You have the totally fashion conscience that will reblog Rodarte and Versace, the grunge/urban blogs that reblog Nirvana tops and dip-dyed hair and the hipster, boho quality and any in between. Teenage years are all about finding yourself and experimenting before you have fully grown up and with school kids becoming more judgemental and bitchy, the internet can help the ones that feel out of place feel like they belong.

But it's not only teenagers that are getting inspiration from social networking sites. Many high-street stores and celebrities are picking up on the online trends making them mainstream. Jeffrey Campbell shoes where first discovered on Tumblr and now are copied by many online stores. Also 'creepers' were shown on almost every Tumblr page last year and now celebrities like Rihanna have been spotted wearing them. What before was original and something to be stared at is now fashion. So before you wait un till previews of your favourite stores new season collection, try looking at some teenage style blogs to inspire you and let you be ahead of the game, or even just to pass time.
